If you are tired of golf courses that beat you up, grab your golf balls in knee-deep rough, or devour them in giant water
hazards on every hole, then the Golf Club of Wentzville is for you. Our course is defined as much by what we don't have as by what we do. It's not 8,000 yards; it doesn't have bunkers 10 feet deep and lined with railroad ties. And while our greens are fast and true, you won't be four putting them anytime soon. Instead, at The Golf Club of Wentzville, you'll enjoy a fine scenic layout that features generous rolling fairways, large sublely contoured greens and no forced carry-overs from the tees. Several holes play alongside the quaint, meandering and soothing sounds of Peruque Creek - an area teaming with natural wildlife.
Whether you are a single digit handicapper, or a player in the high double digits, you'll get a truly enjoyable golf experience from our par-71 Championship layout that plays from 6,344 yards to 4,929 yards depending on which set of tees you choose to play. Although not overly long, the Golf Club at Wentzville offers plenty of risk-reward shots to keep it interesting, and it's very well maintained. Seniors can reach greens playing it safe, while longer hitters can take some chances for birdies.
The 426 yard fifth hole is one of the most challenging par fours on the course. Playing out of a shoot of trees with the Peruque Creek guarding the left and a well place bunker guarding the right, accuracy is paramount from the tee. A good drive will leave you with a midiron to a large green that slopes from back to front. The 546 yard seventh hole is the longest and toughest on the course. A dogleg right lined with trees and protected all the way up the left hand side by the creek, you'll need three solid shots to walk to the eighth tee with a par.
The back nine features two magnificent short par 3's. The 12th, measuring just 152 yards from the back tees, drops some 60 feet from tee to green. The green is flanked to the left a by a stream and guarded at the rear by native fescue. Here, accuracy is a must! The 16th, that is adjacent to our signature silo, is proof that a hole doesn't have to be long to be a test a player' skill. This 135 yard, par 3, goes back uphill at least 45 feet that together with frequent cross winds, makes proper club selection most challenging.
The par-5, 500 yard, 18th hole, offers the perfect opportunity to end your round on a high and will give many players the chance to go for the green in two. But beware -anything short or right will find a watery grave, and playing short to leave yourself an easy pitch maybe the best way to keep a good round going all the way to the 19th hole.
Easily accessible from I-70 and I-40, the Golf Club of Wentzville is an ideal location for tournaments and outings.
